"I don't have any experience with your Roland (I've liked the ones I have heard) but I have a Classic 250, PS Audio Lab Cables, c-j Premier 17LS preamp, Wadia 861 CD player and Thiel 2.3's. The Classic 250 replaced a VTL ST85.
At nearly 3 times the cost, I expected a big improvement and I was not disappointed. In fact, I was astounded. The amp is still breaking in (less than 2 weeks old) but it's an amazing piece of equipment.
I didn't have any idea how much resolution the rest of my system (particularly the speakers) were capable of. The dynamics and detail are incredible. I miss the warm and fuzzy feeling I get from tubes but there's no way I am going back."
