Need more receptacles?  Most of us do, but don't compromise the performance of your equipment with an ordinary extension strip.

Even a short molded plug extender can noticeably degrade the performance of your audio system and certainly your video equipment as well.

Now, there's no need to compromise.  The Juice Bar II is here, right on the heels of a succesful multi-year run of the famous Juice Bar I!

The Juice Bar is a no compromise plug extender built around four PS Audio Power Ports, a detachable AC inlet, a heavy 14 gauge shielded power cord to connect the Juice Bar to the wall socket, and solid copper bus bars to deliver power.

Built like no other
The Juice bar is built for Audio and Video Philes BY Audio and Video Philes who care a great deal about system performance.  This is the same equipment we use in our systems, and we made no compromises in its construction.

Our original intention was to find a good extension strip so owners of our power products could add more plugs and still enjoy the benefits of their Power Plants.

After testing as many extension strips as we could lay our hands on, we were disappointing to discover that all of them compromised the sound of our system.

The biggest problem we found was the way they were wired, and the quality of materials.  To create a proper receptacle extension strip you need to have a a no compromise delivery system, and proper receptacles.

Solid copper bus bars
Our first task, when we set out to build the Juice Bar II, was to define the way it had to be wired internally.  On close inspection, it became obvious that nearly every plug extension box we examined wired their products incorrectly.  Even well regarded Audiophile companies had it wrong.  Sure, they used great wire and the right solder and techniques, but they didn't go the extra mile.  Even the famous JB I used wires in a star configuration.  That's the perfect way to go for wires....but let's take it a step further and eliminate the wires themselves!

Then one thing we can all agree upon is the delivering AC power to our equipmernt is a critical task and it must be done right.  In its simplest form, you simply need to make sure you do no damage to the power.  You must make sure the power gets to the equipment with zero loss.

Sounds easy, but it is not.  While most companies rely on wiring (even high grade wiring) to connect their receptacles together, PS opted for something better.  Solid copper bars.  Each of the 4 duplex (or single) sockets on the JB II is tied directly to the incoming AC line through 1/4 inch thick copper bars that are plated and polished with high purity nickel to make sure the copper underneath never oxidizes.

Then we took the whole process one step further.  Realizing that even the shortest length of wire is no good, we eliminated one of the most common AC bottlenecks we know of: the connection between the incoming AC inlet and the receptacles.

Note that in 100% of the extension strips available today on the high end market, the incoming AC receptacle is tied to the output receptacles through wires and a soldered connection.

Not so with the JBII.  Take a look at the photo of its construction.  You can see that the IEC inlet prongs (that receive the AC from the power cord) are actually machined directly from the power carrying copper bus bar!  No soldering, no wires, nothing but pure and perfect AC delivered to the Power Port receptacles.  Now that's a work of art!

Power Ports
Now that we have AC power delivered to our receptacles without any hurdles or barriers to get through, we need to output that AC power in the cleanest possible manner.  Foir that, you need a Power Port AC receptacle.

Power Ports are one of the finest products we make.  Available for upgrading to your home's AC outlets, Power Ports bring high end performance to thousands of homes all over the world.

Power Ports are hand built AC receptacles built with machined contacts of solid high purity copper, whose surface is then polished and nickel plated and polished again so we can achieve our goals of maximum conductivity, high surface area without pits, and prevent oxidation and corrosion over the life of the receptacle.

In fact, our Power Port AC receptacles boast 15 separate steps of plate and polish for the contacts.  This ensures that the surface is smooth and blemish free for maximum contact area with your power cords.

That's a lot of plating and polishing (we can assure you), but the results are well worth the effort. The PS Power Port™ AC receptacle is, in our opinion, about as good as it gets.

And that's about it!
The Juice Bar II is the single best plug extender on the market today.  Need a few extra high-end plugs for your system?  The Juice Bar is the plug extender you can trust to never compromise your system's performance..

And make sure you are plugging the Juice Bar II into a Power Port or Soloist in your wall (they are really easy to install) and are connecting it with any of our xStream Power Cables.

The AC cord that is supplied with the Juice Bar is a nicely built shielded power cord - but for maximum performance you can't beat an after-market power cord like the xStream SC series.

Bottom Line

Why plug your expensive equipment into an inferior AC connector such as the ones in your wall?  These cheap corroding AC receptacles and plug extenders that populate your home are fine for a vacuum cleaner, the toaster, or a table lamp, but they should not be used for any serious audio or video application.  Don't compromise when you don't have to.

Finally.  There's a solution we can all benefit from and it is available at a price we can afford.
