"Finally, after mucho break-in time, the Transcendent XLR's between
my preamp and amps, settled-in. Took a couple of weeks of continuous
play. I have to tell you, that once broken in, these cables deliver
superb all-around performance, and actually revised my thinking on
them. When broken in, they are detailed without any sense of glare
or sheen on voices, in particular. Also, the bass performance is
very detailed and authoritative, BUT without being overblown.
Two examples for you: The old Siltech '18's are remarkable for their
clarity and, "speed", if you will. They are, however, relatively
bass deficient in two of my systems. The very, very expensive
Japanese Audio Tekne ($750.00/meter) cables have amazing midrange and
top end, but almost too much bass. Once broken in, the Transcendent
are the equal of the Audio Tekne in every way except the bass; Down
low, the "Trans" are actually superior to the Audio Teckne, in my
opinion.
